Secondary Schools Nationals Entries close 28 March.

Well done to the organisers of the regional events held so far – Central North Islands at Taupo, North of the Bridge at Algies, Auckland Cup at Kohimarama and Top of the South at Nelson. Congrats to Napier Girls, Rangitoto, Auckland Grammar and Christchurch Boys on winning their respective regattas. The Lower North Islands at Evans Bay and Lower South Islands at Lake Hood are due to be held the weekend after Easter.

This is the final reminder to all schools, that entries for Nationals close on Wednesday 28 March. Please complete the online entry form https://form.jotform.co/NZTSA/2018-nationals-team-entry-form as per the NOR.  For an entry to be valid the entry fee must be paid by the due date, also.

Please note that, as with other national sailing events, we require all sailors to belong to a YNZ affiliated club. The entry requires the club name, plus either the YNZ club membership number for the sailor, individual club membership number or as a minimum a letter from the club confirming membership.

As this event is sanctioned by NZSSSC, it is conducted under the NZSSSC Integrity Framework. The event specific Health & Safety Plan is available at http://www.nzsssc.org.nz/events-1/entry-info-safety-plans.

All who have sent an entry form and/or paid the entry fee so far have been acknowledged. Please let Gay know if this is not the case with your team. (Check with your own team people first!)

NOR is available via the website www.nzteamsailing.co.nz.

Most schools already have a damage deposit held with NZTSA, so this is not generally required to be paid again with the entry fee.

It seems that there are quite a few teams who cannot make it to Nationals due to sailor commitments elsewhere. It is possible that regions could combine to form a team, if there is enough interest and support. Let Gay or Ross know prior to submitting an entry if you hope to do this.

Registrations are now open for the popular annual Team Sailing Umpires’ Seminar for details: https://www.yachtingnz.org.nz/news/201803/register-now-for-teams-sailing-umpire-seminar-2018

A life-jacket has been found following the North of the Bridge – if it might be yours send Gay a description!

Finally, entries for June’s Open event at Kerikeri close 30 April.  From Reuben – “We are bringing this event back. YOU can sail with anyone you want in your team, any age, any gender, no school or area requirements, minimum 130kg, round robins AND finals series…”!!

Good luck to all still to compete at regional events.
