Reminder to Teams entered Nationals

We have 32 teams entered for this year’s regatta.
A few reminders for the lead up & before the holidays start.

Registration and weigh-in Saturday 21 April 1400 – 1730 at the Mahurangi East Community Centre, Hamatana Road, Snells Beach.
Briefing will also be at the Community Centre, the doors will open just before 6pm.

As per the NOR, there will be daily briefings at 8:15am at SYC, Algies Bay, except ANZAC Day when it will be at 11:00am, for 12 noon race start.

If you are able to bring a rib please contact Ross on 0274728332 or email rosssutherland5@gmail.com. We need 15 ribs for the umpires alone. For reassurance these will be driven by a member of the club providing the boat, if possible.

Due to the large numbers, we are limited to the number of people that we can have on the change-over boats. Only the coach or manager/duty person will be allowed and only if they are wearing an adequate buoyancy aid. Team reserves not being used, are asked to be assistant umpires. They can be quickly swapped on to the change-over boats as required.

There is still opportunity to register for the free YNZ teams umpiring course being held at Sandspit on Friday 20th and Saturday 21st April.
For registration please contact Danika at YNZ,  danika@yachtingnz.org.nz , or check our website.
The prize-giving dinner to be held on the evening of Friday 27th April, requires formal dress please. The entry fee provides each team with 9 tickets for the dinner, however, due to the high number of teams there may be a limited number of extra tickets available.
There is a Managers’ Meeting scheduled for 1930 Wednesday 25th April, at SYC, Sandspit – all welcome to attend (not just the managers!).

Support personnel, umpires, etc please bring your own VHF (& charger) if possible.

Sailors and helpers please remember to bring a shackle key.

There is no sailing on ANZAC Day morning, but remember racing starts at 12 noon, following Briefing at 11am. If anyone is interested in attending an ANZAC parade or service – Warkworth Dawn Parade at 5.50am, followed by the Service at 6am, then Civic Parade and Service at 10.15am and 10.30am. The Matakana Service starts at 10am.

Note that Waiwera hot pools are closed for a 6 month refurbishment.

Results – especially for those who are unable to make it to the event – will be posted on the website www.nzteamsailing.co.nz as they are called off the finish boats.
